Helen Soden

Head of Children’s

RTS winner, BAFTA and EMMY nominee Helen Soden began her illustrious career in children’s TV at Twenty Twenty Television over 11 years ago with the ground breaking reality series Evacuation, where twelve boys and girls from around the UK experienced life as World War Two evacuees. The series was praised for its authenticity and daring immersion, making few allowances for the contributors' age.

After two series Helen went on to develop and create a magic series to coincide with the Harry Potter films.  The Sorcerer’s Apprentice saw junior magicians compete against each other for the much sought after title and ran for three seasons. In 2009, Helen was promoted to Head of Children’s at Twenty Twenty Television and continues to develop and create all its output from the hit format The Big Performance with the nation’s favourite choirmaster Gareth Malone (RTS winner season 3) to Extreme School and Remotely Funny, a revolutionary challenge-based entertainment format currently in production.  Helen is also working on a sitcom pilot script for CBBC with a well-respected UK writer and a number of new ideas for CBeebies and Cartoon Network.

Prior to joining Twenty Twenty Television, Helen worked as a freelance Series Producer and Director for Ricochet, Brighter Pictures and September Films in London and LA.
